A company for older dancers
In May 2015, Bath Dance with the support of Mendip Dance Club hosted Let’s Talk Dance: A performance group for over 60s. An open afternoon to come together to move, share ideas and help shape the beginnings of a dance performance company.
The company, now called Yama, is supported under the artistic direction of local practitioner, Anna Heighway. Bi-weekly sessions focus on developing dance technique, improvisational and performance skills mainly within a contemporary context, but the group consists of wonderful movers from a variety of dancing backgrounds and styles that influence class content and choreography.
